Metallic Mylar is thinly slit and braided with clear PET fibers. It is an innovative solution for adding a mirror finish to any sleevable product. It is readily used in cosmetic applications with dramatic results, such as in show car engine compartments, computer cases(mods), and also in applications where maximum light is crucial.(ie greenhouses). It is so shiny, you'll blind your competition!
Splice Free Spooling:
Some splices are normal during the braiding process. Usually, not more than one or two splices will be on any given spool. Ordering splice-free spools guarantees the maximum continuous yield on your spools. This option is suggested when ordering large lengths of sleeving or for important and precise projects. This treatment is most applicable in lengths that exceed 100 feet. In general, shorter lengths will be splice free as they come off the spools.

Normally our policy is to supply continuous lengths. If it is absolutely necessary to receive one continuous length, please specify.

Splicing may occur during the production of this sleeving. Two or three lengths may create a full spool.
Continuous lengths are available in most sizes at an additional 10% surcharge. Please specify if you require continuous lengths.

Metallic Mylar® is braided from .010" monofilament made from PolyEthylene Terephthalate, with a continuous operating temperature of -103°F to 257°F. Its melt temperature is 446°F and is offered in 2 dramatic colors: Gold and Silver. Mylar sleeving is a mildly conductive polyester film that helps with electrical insulation and shielding. It is also compliant with European Union's Restrictions on the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive.
