The XTpc Schonstedt Pipe and Cable Locator comes with the following standard equipment:

Accessories you can add to your kit:

• 82 kHz or 33kHz sonde (factory selectable)

• Inductive antenna is beneficial when you cannot do a direct connect or use an inductive clamp

The XTPC operates in passive mode, three different active modes (conductive, inductive and clamp), and a sonde mode. In the passive mode the receiver searches for 60 Hz or 50 Hz signals (factory preset). In the active modes the transmitter operates at a frequency of 33 kHz or 82 kHz (depending on which you purchase). In the sonde mode, the receiver searches for the signal transmitted by a small sonde that has been routed through a pipe. The sonde must be of the same frequency as the active frequency. In addition, the receiver can determine the approximate depth of the target (except in passive mode), and has the ability to operate in manual or automatic gain modes. The receiver's front panel is designed to be intuitive and requires a minimum of training for effective use of the instrument. The controls and the information display area are large and easy to understand, yet they include everything necessary to control the unit with your thumb.

The SCH-XTPC, Schonstedt Pipe & Cable Locator XTPC utilizes the smallest transmitter, measuring 7.2" L x 2.2" W x 1.5" H, to find pipes and cables which makes it very convenient to carry with you and on jobs. With two models to choose from, the XTPC-33 or the XTPC-82, along with various accessories, such as the inductive antenna, you are able to purchase exactly what you need. This locator is useful for finding telephone lines, cable TV lines, fiber optic lines, AC power lines, water and gas pipes.

• Conductive Mode: Hook red wire or lead to the ground of electrical line or spare wire and use the black wire to the ground stake and this will transmit a signal so that you can locate the line underground
• Inductive Mode: Use the inductive clamp or the Tracemaster II transmitter above the cable in ground with lid open and nothing plugged in, you are then transmitting a signal and frequency to induce a signal through the ground which will be reflected on anything metallic such as cables or pipes which your receiver will pick up
• Sonde Mode: Used when you have a sonde in the cable or pipe you are seeking
