What's special about Ryton® sleeving?
RYTON® (RY) expandable sleeving is used in high temperature, flame resistant wire harnesses and cable assemblies. RY is an extremely lightweight sleeving, resistant to high temperatures and virtually impervious to solvents. RY is ideal for aerospace, telecom and military applications.     |
Monofilament size: .008 in.
RY is braided from 8 mil flame resistant PolyPhenylene Sulfide (PPS) monofilament fibers. PPS offers the broadest resistance to chemicals of any advanced engineering plastic. The material has no known solvents below 392°F (200°C) and is inert to steam, strong bases, fuels and acids. PPS exhibits minimal moisture absorption and a very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion.

- Melt temp: 285°C/ 545°F
- Temperature range: -70°C to 200°C (-94°F to 392°F)
- Flame retardant VW-1, long term thermally stable
- Retains properties despite extremely high temperatures
- Oxygen index: 46%
- Compliant with European Union's Restrictions on the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive
- Extremely lightweight, durable and flexible
- Easy to install
- Cuts easily with a Hot Knife that can be purchased here
- Available in Black and Natural color
