Clems Electric Company is a family run, electrical contracting company based in Bristol, RI. We've been around for over 30 years and it's been an interesting journey along the way. Humble Beginnings Darwin Clem Clemens was fresh out of the armed services and getting his feet wet as an electrician working for a local contractor. After his normal workday, Clem would attach a magnetic sign to his Volkswagen Bug and drive around trying to drum up business to make some extra cash. He quickly realized that there were a lot of side projects out there. Using his business savvy, a journeyman's license, a Volkswagen Bug full of tools & his magnetic sign he established Clem's Electric Company in 1972 Clem started out doing the basics... plugs, switches & lighting fixtures for residential customers. Clem took great pride in his work, and not surprisingly over the next 10 years his business began to grow. He expanded his staff, and with the extra manpower was able to take on larger projects ...
